Community IDVA
Keeping Survivors of Domestic Abuse & Their Children Safe From Harm in Swindon, Wiltshire and Surrounding AreasHOMETRUTHS Community IDVA Service supports anyone who is being harmed physically, emotionally, sexually and psychologically by partners, ex-partners or family members, living within Swindon and surrounding areas.
We risk assess and safety plan with survivors at high risk of harm, and work together with other agencies as appropriate to help increase their safety and the safety of their children, including: MARAC - Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences, solicitors, housing, police and health professionals.
Risks can increase very quickly for people who are leaving an abusive relationship - getting support from HOMETRUTHS if you are trying to separate from an abusive partner could significantly increase your safety.
It isn't always obvious who is at high risk of harm, so anyone living with domestic abuse or who is still experiencing abuse from an ex-partner who makes contact with HOMETRUTHS, or who is referred to HOMETRUTHS by a professional, will benefit from our expertise in working with survivors to stay safe.
We understand how frightening it can be to speak out or ask for help if you are afraid for your life or if you have been threatened or seriously harmed. We have been working for many years as IDVAs and know how to support you in a very safe way that does not alert the abusive partner, ex-partner or family member that you are getting help. Under no circumstances do we ever work with perpetrators. Our services are dedicated to survivors and victims of domestic violence.
If you are afraid of what your partner, ex-partner or family member does to you, or of what you think they could do to you, please get in touch with HOMETRUTHS by phone or email.
We also welcome referrals from professionals and organisations who are working with clients who are experiencing domestic violence and abuse.
HOMETRUTHS Community IDVAs regularly undertake continual professional development training to ensure we provide the best response to people at high risk of harm.
