HOMETRUTHS is an independent community based, not-for-profit organisation that provides services to anyone from the age of 16 who is, or has experienced domestic violence and abuse from partners, ex-partners or family members, living in Swindon and surrounding areas.

We are pleased to welcome the following speakers:

Lorraine Radford Phd - The Impact of Domestic Abuse on Children & Non-Abusive Parents

Lorraine Radford Phd, is an Independent Researcher and Director of Social Impact Research UK. Her particular areas of research interest and publications include the prevalence and impact of child maltreatment, domestic violence, children and parenting and safe child contact arrangements. She has over 30 years experience of working within the voluntary sector on violence  prevention issues and with a wide range of governmental and professional organisations developing training, policy and practice.

Zoe Lodrick MSc, BA Hons (1st) UKCP - The Trauma of Sexual Abuse within a Relationship

Zoe Lodrick MSc, BA Hons(1st) UKCP, is a Psychotherapist with over 18 years experience of providing psychotherapy to women and men who have experienced rape & sexual trauma. Zoe is recognised as having specialist expertise with regard to human behaviour/response when faced with a perceived threat, especially interpersonal and sexual threat. Zoe provides consultancy and training to professionals working with
survivors of sexual trauma.

Frank Mullane - The Loss of a Loved One to Domestic Violence 

Frank Mullane, is Director of AAFDA—Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse, formed in 2008 in Memory of Julia & Will Pemberton. AAFDA is a charity that helps families after fatal domestic abuse, and brings the victim’s voice to the Criminal Justice System.

The Sky Project - Domestic Violence in the Name of Honour

The Sky Project, is a Bristol based charity dedicated to addressing the issues of Forced Marriage and so-called ’honour’ based violence across the South West.

Detective Inspector Caroline Evely - Changes in Law & Legislation 

Detective Inspector Caroline Evely, has served with Wiltshire Police for over 28 years. Working predominantly with vulnerable people and having developed the Domestic Abuse and Child Protection Units across Wiltshire, since 2009 Caroline has performed the role of staff officer to Chief Constable Brian Moore when ACPO lead for domestic violence and has worked on the Government commissioned review of Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) leading to the Wiltshire pilots of Domestic Violence Prevention Orders & Notices and Claire’s Law.

TEARS Survivors Forum - In Their Own Words

HOMETRUTHS facilitates TEARS—Swindon’s Domestic Abuse Survivors’ Forum, bringing together survivors of domestic abuse from across Swindon to meet with professionals and organisations to share their experiences as survivors, to inform and improve services available to people experiencing domestic abuse.  HOMETRUTHS is funded by Swindon Borough Council to facilitate TEARS Survivors' Forum.

Arrival at 9.00 - Close of day 16.00. LUNCH and coffee breaks included.
